Russian Alphabet

I Added a page with the Russian Alphabet, combined with a fairly good explanation of how it relates to English pronunciation.  Check it out.

Making Sense out of Praxis Language Subscription Plans

I have been intrigued by the lesson plans, and the seemingly non-stop updates to this language program.  Additionally, the site contains a wealth of lessons with good, relevant content.  Therefore, I signed up for the trial to get a good idea of what the site had to offer.  I am interested enough in the quality of the lessons to give them a shot for a couple of months, but I cannot make any sense out of the subscription plans - e.g. - what you get at the various levels.  Some of the plans are quite expensive as well.  This is important, as I like to take multiple languages with the same method to do an appropriate review of the method.  If anyone out there can help wade through it, drop me a line at webadmin@foreignlanguageresource.com and I will pass the information along to everyone.

Aspiring Spanish Speaker - Check out this website

Reflejos

What is it?  Quite simply a side-by-side Spanish English local news source.   The site features local news from the Chicago area, along with other articles of interest.  Regardless of your personal interest in the content, what matters here the most is the translations.  I have long been a fan of side-by-side bilinqual books (see:  Foreign Language Resources Spanish Page Side-by-Side (lado y lado) books) and they have helped me tremendously in my quest to master Spanish.   Please note the sites English is a transliteration of the Spanish, and not word for word.  Occasionally, I have found entire phrases omitted.  Still, even with this deficiency, you will find hours of practice here.

Message Board in the Works

I have begun the design of a message/discussion board, and I hope to have it active by the end of the month.  Hopefully it will build into a vibrant community with time.  I will keep details posted as time goes on.

Doing business is no longer a local affair.   Whether you agree with global sourcing or not, the fact remains that it's here to stay.  In order to remain competetive in the global job market it is essential to have a working knowledge of one or more foreign languages.  Multilingual individuals are in greater demand and command higher salaries than those fluent in a single language.  A native English speaker, doing business in Mexico commands immediate respect if he or she makes an attempt to communicate in Spanish.  And make no mistake, this can make or break a deal.

With todays technology, learning a language is not only easy - but also fun.  Boring high school language classes are now replaced with innovative audio, video and software tools that guide you through the whole process.

Here we connect you to free learning resources, as well as critically acclaimed language learning software and programs from some of the biggest names in the industry.  Get started today!
